I have moved from the Adlon Kempinski Hotel to The Mandala Hotel opposite the Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz. I prefer the whole atmosphere in the Mandala Hotel to that in the Adlon. The restaurant Facil and Qiu Lounge in the Hotel Mandala are well worth recommending. Even if you are not staying the night, it is still worth visiting the Qui Lounge. It would be a good idea to make a reservation in the restaurant Facil, in order to secure a table. From my room in the Mandala Hotel, I have a direct view of the Sony Center and the DaimlerChrysler Quartier. The weather is unfortunately not improved, and I have given up. The photography has not yielded much. So I am planning to come to the “Festival of lights” again in Berlin in October. I checked out of the Mandala, and invited my guide to a meal in the fashionable restaurant DUKE in the newly-opened Ellington Hotel Berlin. The Hotel Ellington is done up in the style of the twenties. I am impressed by it, and will certainly spend a night there in October. I then flew back to Frankfurt with Lufthansa. Sadly nothing else to report ;-(
