My room in the Hotel Adlon Kempinski

Soviet memorial - Treptower Park

Berlin

After a guided tour of the Wartburg, I carried on from Eisenach to Berlin. My hotel - Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin - was hard to reach, because of all the football fans at the Brandenburg Gate, celebrating the DFB Cup Final. I very much enjoyed having to squeeze myself through the football fans on Pariser Platz in order to reach the hotel drive. Berliner taxi drivers beeped their horns like mad, and made VERY nice gestures in my direction. The volume that the fans produce “live” is really amazing, and I was impressed with the sight they made. It is a world which has only become more alien to me.

BULLSHIT SOCCER !

In late afternoon it also began to rain, so I had to abandon any idea of photography at night. But during the day, too, the light was generally sub-optimal because of the clouds ;-(

So I visited the photography exhebition "C/O Berlin - THE CULTURAL FORUM FOR PHOTOGRAPHY" in the old Imperial Post Office Building (Oranienburger Straße/Tucholskystraße).
