Another trip to Oman (Muscat) – United Arab Emirates (Dubai)
Like almost every Easter, today I am flying with Emirates to Oman (Muscat), and then to the United Arab Emirates (UAE - Dubai). Oman is a unique country on the south coast of Arabia, with seemingly endless deserts, treacherous mountains, sandy beaches as far as the eyes can see, lonely villages, bustling cities and Arab bazaars which seem to have been left untouched by the passing centuries. As a child I was fascinated by the stories of Sinbad the sailor, so my visits to the oriental Souqs and bazaars send my thoughts back to another time.
The stay in Dubai afterwards will be in total contrast to Muscat. Dubai abounds in ever greater, increasingly gigantic building projects, and is growing with a dynamism which amazes me every time I visit.
